Policy Development

Ethix works with investors to help develop their policy for responsible investment. This is based on understanding investor needs; drivers such as risk management, regulatory requirements, market demand, ethics or investment belief; and knowing how to create relevant and cost-effective solutions.

We provide education and skill-building as part of our policy development service.

The policy development service also includes a definition of ambition and scope, and incorporates specific guidelines according to the investor's needs. As an example, the investor may want to ensure that companies invested in adhere to the principles of the UN Global Compact, or that the investment process is aligned with the UN PRI.

The policy serves as the platform for implementation through e.g. portfolio monitoring and company research, engagement and company dialogue, and communication.

To set the appropriate scope for a policy, we also provide bespoke research of industry sectors, themes and criteria. This can include e.g. Child labour in India, Corporate Involvement in Controversial Weapons, Investments in Burma, ESG risks and opportunities in Forestry & Paper Sector, Infrastructure, Media sector, Nano-technology or Nordic companies' CO2 emissions and reduction strategies.
